Substantial evidence indicates that DNAH11 mutations represent a major molecular cause of PCD, given the gene’s essential role in regulating respiratory ciliary motility.[16] Because sperm flagella are specialized forms of motile cilia, PCD patients frequently exhibit impaired sperm motility leading to infertility.[17,18] However, few studies have investigated whether DNAH11 variants directly contribute to male infertility through defects in sperm motility. Here, DNAH11 is linked to primary ciliary dyskinesia.
