Linagliptin, a commonly used dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, exerts its glucose-lowering effect by inhibiting the degradation of glucagon-like peptide-1, thereby enhancing insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release.[16–18] Linagliptin provides effective glycemic control without substantially increasing the risk of hypoglycemia. This evidence concerns the gene DPP4 and Hypoglycemia.
