Patient underwent renal biopsy that showed effacement of foot processes with prominent lamellar bodies in podocytes, a morphological sign of phospholipidosis (Figures 1, 2). Immunofluorescence staining for IgG, IgA, IgM, C3, C1q, kappa, lambda, fibrinogen, and albumin was all negative, making it more likely to be drug-induced phospholipidosis. The gene discussed is C3; the disease is lysosomal storage disease.
