Upon analyzing the profiles of patients with different cancer types in TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) database, as shown in Fig. 1h–m, we found that higher SAMHD1 expression could be linked to worse patient survival in AML, breast invasive carcinoma, brain lower-grade glioma, stomach adenocarcinoma, thymoma, and uveal melanoma. This evidence concerns the gene SAMHD1 and acute myeloid leukemia.
