Indeed, we found that in HT1080 cells, which we and others have shown to exhibit relocalization of CPSF6 to nuclear speckles following HIV-1 infection [40], there is a bias towards 3’ UTR shortening for wild-type infected cells, but not N74D infected cells, at 6 hours post-infection. The gene discussed is CPSF6; the disease is HIV-1 infection.
