BAG3 is a key candidate gene in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) cases, including peripartum DCM, cardiotoxicity from chemotherapy, and myocarditis (Mazzarotto et al., 2020), and is linked to tumor growth (Liu et al., 2009; Colvin et al., 2014).
