AD leads to the production of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, and the release of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and nuclear DNA, which activate the cGAS‐STING signaling pathway, thereby exacerbating Aβ plaque deposition, neuroinflammation, pyroptosis, and autophagy. Here, STING1 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
