Laboratory investigations, including blood cell count, electrolytes, C-reactive protein, serum total IgE antibodies, antinuclear antibodies (ANA), anti-extractable nuclear antigen (ENA), anti-double-strand DNA, antibodies against bullous pemphigoid (BP)-180 antigen, and BP230 antigen, were within normal limits, as well as the anti-desmoglein-1 and 3 (Dsg1 and Dsg3) and anti-collagen VII antibodies. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is bullous pemphigoid.
