The anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-13, often associated with Th2-type allergic responses and airway hyperresponsiveness, demonstrated a mild, non-significant increase in the s.c. group (p = 0.73), while in the i.p. group, a significant elevation was detected, with mean levels rising from 33.82 to 45.02 pg/mL (p = 0.0033). This evidence concerns the gene IL13 and airway hyperresponsiveness.
