CD8A and stroke disorder: While Schetters et al. and Chabot et al. showed that Th1 cells were able to induce the inflammatory M1 phenotype, Meng et al. described that not all CD3+ T cells (but only the CD4- CD8-DNTs) were colocalized with microglia cells post stroke and were the only T cell subset that polarized microglia activation towards the M1 phenotype [25,28,33].
