Tat‐CX3CL1 competitively blocks the PSD‐93–CX3CL1 interaction, attenuates microglial release of IL‐1β and TNF‐α, shifts microglia from a pro‐inflammatory M1 state to an anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotype, reduces infarct volume, and improves neurological outcomes in ischemic stroke models [34]. Here, CX3CL1 is linked to ischemic stroke.
