SLC2A1 and glioblastoma: Research has demonstrated that GLUT1 is significantly upregulated in GBM, and its expression levels correlate with the relative glucose concentration in the TME.[112] Furthermore, there was an increase in the expression of glycolytic enzymes in GBM, which was correlated with a decrease in the overall survival rate of patients.[113,114] In contrast, the elimination or suppression of glycolytic enzymes resulted in a survival advantage in xenograft mice, indicating the significant involvement of glycolysis in the growth of GBM.[113,115]
