Analysis of the presence of autoantibodies against islet antigens, including those against islet cells (ICA), glutamate decarboxylase (GADA), insulin (IAA), tyrosine phosphatases (IA-2 and IA-2b), and zinc transporter 8 (ZnT8), is currently the accepted approach for identifying those at risk for type 1 diabetes [5].
