In the present study, we defined two major objectives: (i) to clarify the ambiguity of vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) as a prognostic marker in laryngeal carcinoma in light of tumor heterogeneity and (ii) to identify distinctive expression phenotypes among major proangiogenic molecules and microRNAs that strongly correlate with recurrence and survival outcomes, thus demarcating independent molecular subgroups of patients. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is neoplasm.
