Naringenin, a major flavanone derived from Citri Unshiu Pericarpium, has been shown to regulate the NF-κB signaling pathway in Caco-2 cells (human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line), potentially by enhancing intestinal barrier integrity and modulating gut commensal bacteria (Lee et al., 2023). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and colorectal adenocarcinoma.
