Whereas most data of the use of BRAF/MEKi comes from treatment of malignant melanoma tumors (39), there has been a widespread use of these targeted therapies in other primary cancer types holding this mutation such as non-small-cell lung cancer, anaplastic thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, or primary brain tumors such as PXA (30). The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is thyroid gland undifferentiated (anaplastic) carcinoma.
