Figure 2b shows that patients with depression had a significantly reduced % of IL-17+ CD8 T cells (unadjusted analysis: p = 0.02), and this withstood statistical adjustment for potential confounders (adjusted analysis: p = 0.04). No other significant differences were noted between groups across any of the three panels (Supplementary Table 5). This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and depressive symptom measurement.
