Our previous research demonstrated that phloretin promotes the dissociation of the Keap1/Nrf2 complex, facilitating Nrf2 nuclear translocation (Li et al. 2020), consistent with reports that phloretin prevents cardiomyopathy by inhibiting oxidative stress through Keap1/Nrf2 complex dissociation (Ying et al. 2018). This evidence concerns the gene KEAP1 and cardiomyopathy.
