Specifically, IL-23 (OR: 1.0002, 95% CI 1.0004–1.005, p = 0.029), IL-1RA (OR: 1.008, 95% CI 1.002–1.015, p = 0.005), IL-1β (OR: 1.01, 95% CI 1.003–1.021, p = 0.013), and CRP (OR: 1.20, 95% CI 1.03–1.43, p = 0.022) were all significantly associated with the presence of infection, whereas procalcitonin was not (p = 0.115).
