In an analysis of data from the screening phase of a phase 3, randomized trial of oral octreotide capsules (MPOWERED), patients reported acromegaly symptoms that interfered with their daily activities despite being on a stable dose of depot SRLs, with significantly lower interference among patients with both IGF-I and GH levels within the normal range compared with patients with elevated IGF-I or GH levels. This evidence concerns the gene GH1 and acromegaly.
