In previous studies, circPIAS1-108aa was found to reactivate the SLC7A11/GPX4 pathway by inhibiting phosphor-STAT1 (P-STAT1), and IFN-γ was found to enhance STAT1 phosphorylation, thereby inhibiting downstream transduction of the SLC7A11/GPX4 signaling, ultimately triggering immunogenic ferroptosis in cancer cells (Zang et al., 2024; Gao et al., 2025; Wu et al., 2023; Yi et al., 2020). The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is cancer.
