Finally, in iPSC-derived neurons, both 35-day spinal motor neurons (SMNs) and 10-day Neurogenin-2-induced cortical-like neurons from five C9orf72-related ALS patients exhibited a time-dependent increase in the intensity of canonical (IRF3) and noncanonical (NF-κB) STING pathway factors compared to their corresponding controls (p < 0.001 and p < 0.0001, respectively). Here, STING1 is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
