The prevalence of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor use in people with diagnosed (treated) hypertension increased significantly over the study period, with a sharp increase from 26.7% in 2003 to 46.1% in 2010, followed by a period of stasis from 2011 to 2021 on the background of an overall increasing trend (AAPC 3.60%, 2.80% to 4.41%, P<0.001; online supplemental, table 6 and figure 8).
