Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), a rare but potentially fatal TMA, has an estimated incidence of 1.5–6 cases per million adults per year and is defined by severe deficiency of ADAMTS13 (<10%), either congenital or immune-mediated (iTTP) (1–4). Here, ADAMTS13 is linked to thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
