Sphingosine kinase 1 (SPHK1), a rate-limiting enzyme in sphingolipid metabolism, has been shown to regulate inflammatory activation and fibrosis in various diseases, including spinal cord injury and liver fibrosis, via pathways involving S1P/S1PR3/p38 MAPK and CCL2-CCR2 (15–18). This evidence concerns the gene SPHK1 and Hepatic fibrosis.
