Since sirtinol has been shown to specifically inhibit SIRT1 and SIRT2 [40–42], we measured levels of Ac-H3, a downstream target that is in part regulated by SIRT1 [43], involved in tumorigenesis, and characteristically mutant in 80% of DIPG tumors. The gene discussed is SIRT2; the disease is diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
