MOFA identified genes associated with AD risk only expressed in WM~Sp9D6 that were not detected in Oligo.3-5, including: SYNPO, which was recently linked to AD genome wide association study using UK Biobank data66; HES5, which is important for neural stem cell homeostasis67-69 and was identified as a DEG in 1-month-old mice from a triple transgenic mouse model of AD; and MGAT5B whose deficiency decreases astrocyte activation and increases oligodendrocyte maturation in demyelinating mouse brain model70,71. This evidence concerns the gene HES5 and Alzheimer disease.
