Notably, NS1 induced endothelial hyperpermeability when co-incubated with the Gluc-Fc negative control, but hyperpermeability was prevented when the NS1-EFNB1-Fc complexes were added to the cells, indicating that EFNB1 RBD-Fc fusion protein can act as a decoy to block NS1-mediated endothelial dysfunction.
