In this study, we detected MUC1 overexpression in two of the putative AR subtypes, cribriform and solid structures, and observed that a high areal density (> 6.86/mm2) of putative AR structures is associated with higher levels of cytoplasmic MUC1 expression in MIPs, cribriform structures, and across all carcinoma cells. This evidence concerns the gene MUC1 and carcinoma.
