Interestingly, CD276, derived from both tumor and macrophage sources, has been shown to play a key role in tumor immune evasion 43 Furthermore, PTC patients with high BGN expression demonstrated a lower response rate to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy than those with low BGN expression, suggesting that elevated BGN levels may impair the efficacy of ICB in thyroid cancer (Figure S4E).
