Women with preeclampsia had significantly higher concentrations IFN-γ (4.94 versus 3.72 pg/mL, p < 0.001), IL-17A (3.31 versus 2.87 pg/mL, p = 0.016) and IL-4 (1.90 versus 1.74 pg/mL, p = 0.018) than controls, whereas no significant difference in the IL-10 concentration was observed between the groups (5.12 versus 4.47 pg/mL, p > 0.05). The gene discussed is IL4; the disease is preeclampsia.
