TNF and Familial adenomatous polyposis: In a similar study conducted in 2024 by de Oliveira Assis et al. (118) on patients aged 18 to 66 years (15 randomized controlled trials) with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), it was found that green tea catechins EGCG ( ≤ 8 weeks) reduced serum levels of TNF-alpha and other oxidative stress indicators, and this compound, thus, exhibited anti-inflammatory and chemopreventive effects.
