PRUNE2 and prostate carcinoma: The human prune homolog 2 (PRUNE2) is identified as a susceptibility gene for Alzheimer’s disease.27, –29 It exhibits high levels of expression in the human nervous system and brain.28,29 PRUNE2 plays a role in various tumors as a tumor suppressor, including prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, and neuroblastoma.28,29 Studies have shown its potential as a biomarker to distinguish leiomyosarcoma from gastrointestinal stromal tumors.28,30
