EZH2 and neoplasm: NEAT1 exerts its oncogenic effects through three primary mechanisms: it serves as a miRNA sponge, antagonizing the interaction between tumor suppressor gene miRNAs and their target mRNAs (139); it functions as a scaffold to interact with EZH2, enhancing the expression of downstream genes regulated by EZH2 (141); and it promotes DNA methylation by inhibiting the expression of miR-129 (142).
