CRS occurs as a result of the rapid activation and proliferation of CAR‐T cells, which release large quantities of proinflammatory cytokines, including interleukin (IL)‐6 and interferon gamma (IFN‐γ), that further stimulate both the CAR‐T cells and the host immune system [8, 11, 12]. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is congenital rubella syndrome.
