One study revealed that in lung ischemia and reperfusion injury, the loss of EC TRPV4 can effectively improve the partial pressure of blood oxygen and inflammation.42 Our study is the first to demonstrate that PEMFs regulate EC mitochondrial function and NLRP3 inflammasome activation through TRPV4, thereby slowing the progression of atherosclerosis. This evidence concerns the gene TRPV4 and atherosclerosis.
