In A Phase 2b, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial to Evaluate Reduction in Inflammation in Patients With Advanced Chronic Renal Disease Utilizing Antibody Mediated IL-6 Inhibition (RESCUE, NCT03926117), ziltivekimab—a monoclonal antibody targeting the IL-6 ligand—achieved a 77–92% reduction in hs-CRP without inducing sustained grade 3 or 4 neutropenia or thrombocytopenia, which have been observed with other IL-6 inhibitors [51]. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is neutropenia.
