The main change in the WHO 2022 classification is the introduction of a new category of molecularly-defined RCC, which includes TFE3-rearranged RCC, TFEB-rearranged RCC, and TFEB-amplified RCC, FH-deficient RCC, SDH-deficient RCC, ALK-rearranged RCC, ELOC(TCEB1)-mutated RCC, INI1(SMARCB1)-deficient RCC (2). Here, ALK is linked to renal cell carcinoma.
