NFE2L2 and Alzheimer disease: Using SH-SY5Y cells treated with STZ, considered an appropriate in vitro AD model (Guo et al., 2017; Ranjan et al., 2018; Cheng et al., 2021), we demonstrated that STZ exposure led to increased levels of miR-495 and decreased levels of its target, NRF2, in the context of a human in vitro model of AD.
