No significant differences were found between the groups regarding age, sex, baseline NIHSS score, major risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, previous stroke/transient ischemic attack), or rates of reperfusion therapies (intravenous tissue plasminogen activator and mechanical thrombectomy) (all P > .05), indicating good baseline comparability (Table 1).
