The cellular immune response of ChD was evaluated by determining some serum cytokines, six main ones of a Th1 immune profile (TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-12, and IL-18) (Figure 7) and three Th2 ones (IL-4, IL-6, and IL-10) (Figure 8), to assess which vaccine formulation best controls the inflammatory environment induced by the parasite and, therefore, helps mice to show an improvement against progression in the lethal disease.
