UVB-associated mutations in the promoter region of the diphthamide biosynthesis protein 3 (DPH3) and oxidoreductase NAD-binding domain containing 1 (OXNAD1) genes are also found in BCC, with mutations involving DPH3 reported to occur at a frequency of 42 percent [51]. The gene discussed is OXNAD1; the disease is skin basal cell carcinoma.
