Specifically, analysis of sarcopenia development stages shows that the manifest stage of the disease is associated with dysregulation of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), Neurotrophin, Rap1, Ras, and p53 signaling pathways, indicating the involvement of endocrine, neurotrophic, and apoptotic mechanisms in pathogenesis. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and sarcopenia.
