Since pluripotent adult stem cells rely on pathways such as K-RAS, Hedgehog, TGF-β, mTOR, and Wnt to maintain self-renewal, tumor growth, invasion, and progression, and given that the identified miRNAs target ligands, receptors, and downstream effectors in these networks, our findings emphasize the critical role of miRNAs in modulating signaling pathways that sustain PCSC functions. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is neoplasm.
