In another study examining SLFN11 as a predictor of platinum sensitivity in ovarian cancers, including high-grade serous carcinoma and clear cell carcinoma independent of BRCA1/2 mutation status, results demonstrated that promoter hypermethylation can epigenetically silence SLFN11 expression, contributing to chemotherapy resistance [20]. This evidence concerns the gene SLFN11 and clear cell adenocarcinoma.
