It has been shown that, beyond NF-kB, many factors can increase IL-6, such as (1) age and health conditions, such as older age, obesity, diabetes, tissue injury, stress, chronic infection and inflammation [52]; (2) lifestyle and environmental factors, such as diet, exercise and pollution [53,54,55,56]; and (3) medical treatment, such as cancer treatment [57].
