Biesbrock & Yeh reported that in an experimental gingivitis study with 30 subjects, IL-1β concentrations of sampled keratinocytes were positively correlated to the number of clinical bleeding sites with r = 0.90 (p < 0.05) using linear regression analysis, which coincided with the development of a subgingival dysbiotic plaque [14]. Here, IL1B is linked to gingivitis.
