For in-hospital mortality, independent predictors included: presence of APE (OR 3.82, 95% CI 1.44–10.12, p = 0.007), elevated NT-proBNP (OR 1.0004 per pg/mL, 95% CI 1.0002–1.0008, p = 0.003), troponin (OR 1.09 per ng/mL, 95% CI 1.03–1.17, p = 0.005), and IL-6 > 50 pg/mL (OR 2.57, 95% CI 1.08–6.13, p = 0.033). Here, NPPB is linked to apparent mineralocorticoid excess.
