From a biomarker perspective, persistent NT-proBNP elevation (>125 pg/mL) was noted in 42.3% of APE survivors versus 11.3% of non-APE (p = 0.002), while IL-6 remained elevated (>10 pg/mL) in 34.6% and 14.1%, respectively (p = 0.03). This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and apparent mineralocorticoid excess.
