NGF and neoplasm: The authors assumed that (i) NGF binding to TrkA receptors promotes pain, osteoclastogenesis, bone resorption, and inhibits cell apoptosis, (ii) that blocking NGF can control tumor-induced pain and potentially have antitumor effects, as demonstrated by in vitro and in vivo studies, and (iii) that bedinvetmab is a canine-specific monoclonal antibody that targets the excess of NGF.
