Wnt/β-catenin pathway may be upregulated in ovarian cancer due to SFRP methylation, which functions as a pathway inhibitor. SFRP methylation is associated with worse prognosis, aggressive biological behavior and increased risk of recurrence [70]IQGAP2 and THEM88 (both0 inhibitors of Wnt/β-catenin signaling) may be hypermethylated in ovarian cancer—a feature associated with disease progression [71,72].
